What are synthesis scale and yield?

Synthesis scale refers to the starting amount of free 3′-end on synthesis media, usually measured in nmole, e.g. 25 nmole, 50 nmole, etc. Yield refers to the amount of final product recovered after all of the synthesis and purification steps have been completed. Yield is usually measured in OD, e.g. 3 OD, 5OD, etc.
